Evening Tea II

Taavi Kerikmäe (clavichord)
Anna-Liisa Eller (psalterio)

Two instruments with a delicate sound spectrum – the clavichord and the psaltery – are in the focal point of this late-night concert. Played by versatile musicians Taavi Kerikmäe and Anna-Liisa Eller, a unique approach to mixing timbres, colours, and textures is to be expected.

Taavi Kerikmäe is a composer, improviser, interpreter, and lecturer, at home in contemporary, experimental, and electronic music. His pioneering mindset has also led him to broaden the meaning of ‘historically informed performance practice’, applying it to the performance of mid-20th century music.

Anna-Liisa Eller is specialized in playing the Estonian chromatic kannel, and both, early and contemporary music. She has performed at numerous music festivals in Estonia and Europe, regularly in demand with ensembles such as Supersonus, Kapsberger, Oni Wytars, Vox Clamantis, Rondellus, Floridante, and others. Anna-Liisa is also engaged in teaching the Estonian kannel and expanding the repertoire of that very instrument – she is currently working on a doctoral thesis on the interpretation of baroque music and the application of playing techniques on the Estonian chromatic kannel.
